Please note that housing at Hatfield is limited during the spring and summer, and unfortunately not all requests will be accommodated.

Hatfield’s on-site housing can accommodate up to 100 residents. The housing options include 16 one-bedroom apartment-style housing units that accommodate up to four residents, four bunkhouse-style housing units that accommodate up to eight residents, and two mobile homes that accommodate up to eight residents. While living on our campus, you will have full access to laundry facilities and can enjoy the social and dining hall area and the basketball and volleyball courts in the courtyard.

Financial Support

Cecil and Martha MacGregor HMSC Scholarship

This scholarship is given to multiple students. Each award of $250 goes to cover housing expenses for undergraduate OSU students taking coursework during the summer and in residence at Hatfield Marine Science Center. This award will be administered through OSU ScholarDollars. Application deadline: May 31, 2024.

MACO Coastal Housing Award

This award is given to multiple students. Each award of up to $400 goes to cover housing expenses for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in OSU courses and living in residence at Hatfield Marine Science Center in Spring, Summer, or Fall. This award is administered through the Marine and Coastal Opportunities/Marine Studies Initiative. Applications must be submitted for each applicable term. Spring: February 12 – March 4, 2024 Summer: April 15 - May 15, 2024 Fall: June 6, 2024 – TBA.

Apartment Units

This complex has eight furnished apartments in each of the three buildings separated by a laundry room. The apartment units have a fully equipped kitchen/dining area, living room, study area, bedroom with four bunk beds, and a bathroom.

Bunkhouse & Dining Hall

The bunkhouse has four large rooms, each with bunk space for eight and a bathroom. The Dining Hall has one furnished kitchen for each of the four rooms and serves as a TV lounge as well.

Two manufactured homes are typically reserved for faculty housing. These are three-bedroom furnished units with two bathrooms. They are just south of the rest of the housing complex.
