Marine Science Day is held between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
There is a tour tent in the courtyard area and tickets are given out for the tours on a first-come, first-serve basis. All the tours are free. Go to the Tours page and get full details about all the tours at this year's Hatfield Marine Science Day.
Free parking is available in front of the Hatfield Visitor Center and in the Port of Newport parking lot. You can access both of these from SE Marine Science Drive.
The Hatfield Visitor Center will be open the entire Marine Science Day, free of charge. The entire event and all of its special featured events are free and open to the public.
Yes, there will be food for sale at Marine Science Day. The Rise Grab and Go Kitchen is located inside the Gladys Valley Marine Science Building and it offers light food and drinks. Mo's Seafood and Chowder will have a food truck on-site and will offer a selection of its favorites. There are also water bottle filling stations around the Hatfield campus so bring a water bottle. Plus we have picnic tables and areas where you can eat. Visitors are welcome to pack a lunch or snacks to bring to the event.

The Guin Library will be open during Hatfield Marine Science Day, and it is an ideal time to decompress if you or your children need a quiet space to take a break. There is a quiet reading nook with comfortable resting spaces set up if you need downtime. The library will also have board games and puzzles for people to enjoy.
